Customizing a Drawer System

Bending down or sitting on the bathroom floor is not always ideal for trying to access the back of your bathroom vanity cabinet. So, customizing a drawer system can be ideal for providing you easy access to toiletries that would otherwise be lost in the backs of your cabinets. Depending on the configuration of the pipes underneath your sink, you can set varying sizes of drawer organizers on either side of your pipes. For example, you can set this wider drawer organizer on one side of your bathroom cabinet (found here):

And, you can set a more narrow version like this on the other side (found here):

I actually utilize two of the wider version underneath my own bathroom sink which I share here. You can use stackable drawer solutions of varying widths and heights as well to maximize every inch of space in a tiny bathroom. I also shared how I organized a previous bathroom using open stackable bins here.

Maximizing Storage Around the Pipes

Creating a drawer system as noted above is an excellent way to work around the pipes underneath your bathroom sink. There are also organizing solutions like this available which are excellent at maximizing storage around those pipes (found here):

You simply flip some of the adjustable shelf inserts around and you have a customized shelving system around your pipes. You will need to measure the width of your cabinet to ensure this system fits. For storing back-up toiletries like extra shampoo and soap, you can simply set your items directly on the shelves. For items you need to access more frequently, like hair tools, you will want to add some bins or baskets like these that you can pull out and set on your countertop (found here):

As an alternative in case a shelving system like this does not work for the size or configuration of your cabinet, you can use varying sizes of stacking shelves as well.

Cabinet Door Organization

When utilizing a shelving system around your pipes like the one above, you might find that you have space to utilize in front of the shelves. Rather than blocking the shelves by setting things in front of them, utilizing the backs of your cabinet doors is a much better organizing solution. Some cabinet door organizers are made specifically for a purpose like for organizing hair tools (found here):

And, some are created for general purpose and can contain anything you would like quick and easy access to bottles of lotions or hair styling products (found here):
