Sneaker Organization

Before you start organizing your sneakers, I highly suggest editing your collection. You don’t want to purchase a bunch of organizing solutions to contain sneakers you’re not going to wear or don’t care to display.

The Most Popular Sneaker Organizer

Sneaker enthusiasts are drawn to the ever popular stackable sneaker box with a door. But did you know that they come in different forms?

The standard sneaker box comes in a frame, of which you can choose the color, with a clear drop-down door. This option below has frames in white, black, faux wood grain (featured below), and two shades of blue (found here):

If you want to maximize the light coming in so you can see each pair better, here is a completely clear option (found here):

If you like this style container but don’t want your sneakers displayed or exposed to light, here is a completely opaque version (found here):

These sneaker boxes are available with neat door options now including this one below that pulls out like a drawer while the cover lifts up (found here):

And, this option below allows you to open the door from either the wider or narrower side. That means you can customize how your sneakers are visible. If you want to display the backs, you can store the box with the narrow side to the front. If you want to display the sides or bottom of your sneakers, you can store the box with the wider side to the front (found here):

The benefits of using the modular sneaker boxes above are:

  • you can customize the configuration of your storage depending on your space:
    • you can stack them up to the height of a table top to allow you to utilize the top surface
    • stack them floor to ceiling
    • store them under your bed creating a drawer system
    • or configure them on an awkward wall like the side of a staircase.
  • you can purchase a few at a time as needed as they are regularly available so your sneaker storage system can continue to be cohesive.

Displaying Your Sneakers

The popular sneaker boxes above with clear doors are excellent for displaying your sneaker collection. For the minimalist, a display like this can highlight your most prized pairs of sneakers (found here):

Another way to display your favorite pairs is to utilize a wall organizer like this (found here):

For the collector, if you like the two display-type organizers above, you will just want to ensure these are in regular production and are available to purchase in the future if you want to keep your display cohesive.

Bonus tip: to maintain the shape of your sneakers, using shields like this is a must (found here):

Entryway Organization

For the shoe-free home, you can set a bench like the one below at your entry for your household to easily remove their sneakers and then store them in the cubbies underneath. For the minimalist, this can also be an excellent way to store all your sneakers (found here):

For a space-saving option, a narrow option like this can fit in a little corner next to your front door (found here):

For those who have stairs near their entryway, you can utilize the popular sneaker boxes above as they are a stackable, modular system which is easy to customize. Another option is to utilize something like this which is great for the rest of your household who might not be keen to opening and closing a door on sneaker boxes … they can toss their sneakers right in (found here):

Garage/Mud Room Organization

If your family usually enters your home through your garage or mud room, a door organizer will be the perfect reminder for your family to remove their footwear especially if you desire to keep a shoe-free home (found here):

If you need to store sneakers which you may switch out between seasons or what not and you want to keep them dust free, you can use a sneaker closet like this (found here):

For long term storage, protective bins with lids are ideal (found here):

For super dirty sneakers that you need quick and easy access to, installing something like this on your garage or mud room wall can be just what you need (found here):
