Jewelry Organization

Before you start organizing your jewelry, I highly suggest editing your collection. You don’t want to purchase a bunch of organizing solutions to contain jewelry you’re not going to wear. Here is how to properly organize what you do wear depending on your organizing style.

Open Organizing Solutions

If you like to have all your jewelry to be visible at a glance, here are some organizing solutions for you.

For the Minimalist

For the minimalist, you will simply need organizing solutions just for what you wear. For example, I only wear pearl stud earrings … and that’s it. So, I created a tray to contain my eyeglasses and earrings which I share here. So, you can simply utilize a tray to contain your everyday jewelry. For an all-in-one organizing solution to contain every piece of jewelry properly to prevent tangling and damage, an organizing solution like this will work for you (found here):

If you need to or prefer to use wall space, a simple hanging organizing solution like this can be all that you need (found here):

For the Collector

If you have a much larger collection of jewelry and you expect it to grow (and you have space for it to grow), all-in-one organizing solutions won’t work for you. Your collection will likely grow by piece type (i.e. necklaces, bracelets, etc.) So, you will need to utilize organizing solutions for each type of jewelry (i.e. necklace stands, bracelet stands, etc.) That way, as your collection grows, you can simply purchase just the organizing solution you need and keep the organization of your collection cohesive. Here are examples of jewelry organizers that are easy to find and purchase in the future when needed like these necklace stand (found here):

To utilize wall space, you can set the organizers on shallow wall shelves like this (found here):

Closed Organizing Solutions

If you prefer to have your jewelry tucked away, here are some organizing solutions for you.

This jewelry organizer below is a super space-saving option which can be stored in your closet on your closet rod. For it being so simple, it’s actually quite well-designed being that it contains necklace loops to help keep necklaces from getting tangled (found here):

A wall-mounted jewelry organizer cabinet, like this one, which also doubles as a mirror and locks is great for a collection of costume jewelry (found here):

The same style of jewelry organizer cabinet above also can be installed over a door which you can find here. Additionally, there is also a free-standing option available here.

For the collector, similarly to the concept suggested for open organizing solutions, you will want to use organizing solutions that can grow with your collection. For closed storage solutions, you will want to utilize modular organizers that can stack on top of each other. That way, you can stack them within your drawers or on your shelves. The storage of your collection will continue to stay cohesive as your collection grows and you purchase trays as needed. Here is a great starter set (found here):

Then, you can add on this tray as needed (found here):

Also, if you are a minimalist, you can purchase just one tray of the modular system above. If your collection grows in the future, you are all set to maintain a cohesive system.

Organizing Solutions for Display

For those extra special pieces of jewelry that deserve to be set out on display, here are some organizing solutions for you.

Vintage style jewelry boxes can be excellent for displaying your favorite pieces. Since they come in an array of different sizes, you can feature each special piece in it’s own case. From displaying a single ring in a small pyramid-shaped case to a bracelet in a hexagonal case like this (found here):

… and from a small collection of broches in a rectangular case to a square case like this that can feature a princess style necklace (found here):

For a locked jewelry display case to keep your most prized jewelry pieces safe from curious hands, you can utilize a professional display case like this (found here):
