In the upper, left corner, I have supplements I might take at night as needed. I don’t recommend this Oxy-Powder supplement unless you are used to doing natural cleanses. This works just like a laxative and if your colon is not regularly cleansed by high fiber foods, you may experience a harsh reaction when taking this. Next to that, I have supplements I take in the morning since probiotics and enzymes are best taken on an empty stomach (click here to see all my favorite supplements that I take on a daily basis which have improved my health tremendously). The magnesium oil can be sprayed on your legs at night to promote better sleep. I keep a lens cleaning spray and optical cloth here as I clean my glasses every morning as they get grimy with skin flakes (eczema), oil, fingerprints (sorry so gross). I keep three different DIY moisturizers here. I don’t necessarily use them for what they are labeled for (“Eye Cream”, “Moisturizer”, “Body Butter”) but more so depending on how thick of a moisturizer I need that day. Here are some recipes if you want to give them a try:

EYE CREAM

  • Aloe Vera Gel, 2 oz
  • Shea Butter, 2 oz
  • Coconut Oil, 2 oz
  • Vitamin E Oil, 1 tsp
  • Frankincense Essential Oil, 20 drops

Mix all of the ingredients together in a small bowl. If needed (for colder months when the coconut oil is solid), you can gently heat the shea butter and coconut oil in a small pan, then add the rest of the ingredients so that it blends more easily. Once well blended, transfer into a glass jar. Use every morning and night around the eyes. (I use this on my body when the weather is a little drier.)

MOISTURIZER

  • Coconut Oil, 3 oz
  • Shea Butter, 1 oz
  • Jojoba Oil, 1 oz
  • Aloe Vera Gel, 1 oz
  • Vitamin E Oil, 1/2 tsp
  • Lavender Essential Oil, 15 drops

Place ingredients into a mixing bowl. Blend all ingredients using a hand mixer until it is whipped to a light and fluffy consistency. Place in glass jar with lid and apply once or twice a day to the skin. If possible, apply to the skin while it is damp to help seal in moisture. (I use this on my body on a daily basis. It has a lovely texture.)

BODY BUTTER

  • Avocado Oil, 1 oz
  • Magnesium Oil, 1 oz
  • Cocoa Butter, 3 oz
  • Vitamin E Oil, 1/2 tsp
  • Lavender Essential Oil, 15 drops

In saucepan with water over low heat, place a jar containing the cocoa butter. Once melted, pour into bowl and let cool in fridge for 30 minutes. Using a standard mixer blend and whip it. Once whipped add in magnesium oil, avocado oil, vitamin E oil and essential oils and mix. Transfer to glass jar or plastic container and keep in refrigerator for 90 days. (I use this when my skin is extra dry. My skin is okay right now, so this jar actually empty at the moment.)

I keep my DIY scrub in my nightstand because I don’t like to keep glass in the bathroom after I broke a coconut oil jar in the bathroom and it was a bloody mess (sorry if your squeamish!) The recipe is super simple as you just need to pulse organic sugar in a blender or food processor or coffee grinder until you reach a very fine grain (but not powdered). Then, add coconut oil and lavender essential oil. In another section, I have my deodorant (I found Tom’s of Maine deodorant to be the best price at Trader Joe’s), a doTERRA breathe stick, black cumin essential oil from Dr. Axe, along with a little jasmine infused oil I received as a gift and three different eye drops. The upper, right section holds my face products including a hyaluronic acid, rosewater, a retinol moisturizer, and a tinted moisturizer with SPF (I received this from my BFF who gave it to me because she wasn’t using it). These organizers are all from the Dollar Tree!

I keep a face-massager to the left as I have pretty constant facial pain which I explain in my 60-day challenge blog. All of these doTERRA essential oils (which can be found here) I use in all kinds of DIY products including skin and hair care products, cleaning products, and in my diffuser. I have the essential oil labels all facing me when I look over and into my nightstand from my bed. The upper, right organizer holds 5 ml bottles along with roller balls including a DIY hair growth serum (castor oil and rosemary essential oil) for my brows (that were lost in the 90’s). The lower, right organizer holds 15 ml bottles along with a DIY face serum. Here is the recipe I use for my eczema-prone face:

FACE SERUM

  • Avocado Oil, 1 1/2 tsp
  • Jojoba Oil, 1 1/2 tsp
  • Seabuckthorn Oil, 1/2 tsp
  • Lavender Essential Oil, 2 drops
  • Roman Chamomile Essential Oil, 1 drop
  • Frankincense Essential Oil, 1 trop
  • Helichrysum Essential Oil, 1 drop
  • Myrrh Essential Oil, 1 drop

Combine in a glass bottle and shake. Allow to sit overnight. Apply a few drops daily.

I keep a little tool with my Doterra Breathe roller ball. The tool helps you to pop out the orifice reducer from the essential oil bottle, so you can get the very last drops of each oil. Next to the Breathe roller ball, I have lip balm from Trader Joe’s. To the very right side of the drawer (slipped in next to the essential oil organizers), I have bottle cap stickers and a mini Doterra A to Z guide. I do have a second drawer in this nightstand which has a few books I’m reading along with some bird supplies including seeds, paper towels and a mini broom and dust pan as my birds have sleeping cages in the bedroom (my best friend’s daughter calls me crazy bird lady).
