So, we begin my series on clothing organization. Here I start with how to organize your underwear so they are no longer a jumbled mess and you can select the pair you need in a glance. Before organizing your underwear, you must purge the underwear that you do not like and no longer use. Be ruthless and purge the excess so you can more easily store what you do need and use.

Folding Techniques for Organizer-Free Drawer Organization

You don’t always have to use drawer organizers to have efficiently organized drawers. Simple folding techniques, like I share here and in my updated video below, help to keep clothes nicely compact so they don’t unravel out of their folded little rectangle.

Drawer Organizers for Those Who Don’t Care to Meticulously Fold Their Undies

If you are not one to meticulously fold your underwear, drawer dividers can help to maintain order in your drawers. You can divide your panties form your socks with expandable drawer dividers like these, for example (found here):

Or, you can divide your underwear into categories like regular panties, smoothing undies, and thongs with adjustable drawer dividers like these, for example (found here):

There are also drawer organizers available which are designed for containing underwear (found here):

For men’s boxers that are closer in form to regular shorts and bulkier than tighty-whities, larger drawer organizers like these can help to keep boxers contained (found here):

How to Organize Underwear in the Closet

In my first few apartments, I lived just fine without a dresser and contained all my clothing, including my underwear, in my closet. I had a closet organizing system that included drawers. For apartments that have the standard closet rod and shelf across the top, utilizing a hanging organizer like this creates drawer space for you (found here):

If you have a lower shelf in your closet which may sit underneath clothes hanging from the rod, you can set on it a drawer system like this (found here):

Under the Bed Organization
