If your dresser drawers are overflowing or jumbled, you’re likely wasting so much time looking for things and also damaging your clothes as they are being jammed and snagged in your drawers. So, we continue my series on clothing organization. I covered workout clothing organization in my previous post. Here I continue with how to properly organize your swimwear, including those stringy bikinis and bottoms and padded swimsuit tops, for easy access whether you like to store them in your dresser or closet. And, did you know, you can also organize your spaces according to your organizing style? You can find out what your organizing style is here.

Before organizing your swimwear, you must purge the bikinis and swimsuits that you do not like and no longer use. Be ruthless and purge the excess so you can more easily store what you do need and use.

In my freebie library here, I include guides which help walk you through the organizing process and help you decide what to purge and keep. I also include my declutter and organizing challenge calendars and guides to help direct you through each area of your home. These guides ensure you get through every nook and cranny and finally get to the other side of clutter … an organized and functional space!

In this post, we focus on how to organize your swimwear. Below, I share ideas on how to organize your bikinis and swimsuits with different types of organizing solutions that will work for your organizing styles and spaces. I also share how to organize pajamas and swimwear.

Swimwear Organization

While I like to use folding techniques here, and in my updated video here, to help keep your folded clothes, well, folded and neatly organized without having to utilize organizing products, swimwear can be quite difficult to contain. The material can be slippery and difficult to keep folded. Also, all those strings hanging from bikini tops and bottoms can get tangled. And, the padding gets crushed, whether they are in your swimsuits or bikini tops, from improper storage. Organizing products can become a must.

But before you start shopping, I highly suggest editing your swimsuit collection. You don’t want to purchase a bunch of organizing solutions to contain swimwear you’re not even going to use. I share my clothing quantities to keep guidelines in my freebie library here. My guide helps you to determine how many of each clothing item to keep based on your lifestyle and how often you are able to do laundry.

Drawer Organizing Solutions

An organizing solution that can do double duty can be to use a waterproof organizer bag. You can store your super stringy bikini tops and bottoms in these bags. Also, you will already have your waterproof bag ready to toss in your beach bag and ready to use after your trip to the pool or beach (found here):

Then, you can store these bags in drawer organizers. In drawer organizers of these sizes below, you can store your padded swimsuits (just roll the bottom up to the padded portion) and bikini tops in the wide organizers so they are less likely to be crushed and become mishapen. The smaller organizers can contain non-padded bikini tops and swimsuits as well as bottoms (found here):

If your swimsuits and bikinis are all kinds of every shape and size, you can use adjustable drawer dividers to customize storage for each piece (found here):

How to Organize Swimwear in the Closet

If you don’t have a dresser or dresser space, you can add organizing solutions to your closet. You can hang swimsuits from a hanging organizer like this (found here):

For your bikini collection, an organizer like this one below can be perfect for lined or padded tops which are each made visible at a glance. Also, each of your bikini bottoms can be easily found at a glance (found here):

For the super active swimmer, an organizing solution like this contains both your swim cap and your swimsuit (found here):
