… including travel bottles, cups, and mugs

The collections of drinkware I’ve seen in other’s homes can become quite astounding. The accumulation can happen for different reasons … a few glasses from one set break, and so you purchase another set. You may have thought the kids lost their sippy cups, so you purchased replacements, and found them later in the play room. That mug at the store had the perfect saying printed on it, so you just had to purchase it. In an effort to be more eco-friendly, you have purchased reusable, portable drinking vessels. And, for similar reasons as previously noted, you either thought they were lost or saw a cute new one at the store and so you purchased more. So, trying to organize these collections of glasses, cups, and mugs, can seem impossible. Here is how to get your drinkware clutter under control! How to Organize Drinking Glasses & Wine Glasses

Honestly, drinking glasses are the easiest thing to organize. You simply place them on the cabinet shelf and line them up. The disorganization occurs, however, when we have too many glasses and too many variations which are difficult to neatly organize. My best tip for keeping drinking glass clutter under control moving forward is to stop purchasing sets of glassware (use up the set you currently have before purchasing more). I suggest purchasing drinking glasses which are consistently available in the store. That way, whenever a glass is broken, it is easy to replace. For example, I purchase my glasses from the Dollar Tree. They have a few glasses that they always have in stock.

To keep your wine glasses dust-free, it’s a great idea to store them upside down. To keep them from toppling over and chipping, here is a great solution that you can simply slide over your cabinet shelf (found here):

How to Organize Cups

If you are a household who prefers to drink from plastic cups, not disposable, you will simply organize them in the same manner as regular drinking glasses as noted above. Kids cups including baby bottles and sippy cups can have some parts that are better stored in a container. Here are some great options below.

How to Organize Mugs

I want to start this portion off by clarifying that I totally understand there is a difference between collections and clutter. There are a lot of cute mugs consistently popping up in stores and online. So, I completely understand that collecting mugs is a thing. If you have the space, go for it. When you run out of space or you just do not have the space, the excess becomes clutter. Here are some ways to organize mugs so that they are nicely contained and don’t overrun your spaces.

How to Organize Travel Cups & Mugs

To prevent the accumulation of travel cup and mug clutter moving forward, here are a few tips. One, stop purchasing more (use what you have until they are broken or lost), even if they are super cute and “so you” that you can’t pass it up. Look away from the Starbuck’s cups. Two, either use one insulated cup that is designed for both hot and cold drinks. Or, get one for cold and one for hot. Try to keep your travel cup and mug clutter to this minimum per person. If anything happens to these drink vessels, go ahead and get that super cute new one you’ve had your eye on. Meanwhile, here is how to store your travel cups and mugs.
