Why organizing does NOT have to be expensive
You are likely here because you have joined Terry Elisabeth’s 4-week declutter challenge here and you want to get organized on a budget! Here is where we go over what to do with organizing products you come across during your declutter sessions and when to set up organizing systems.
I’ve always loved organizing. The end result is just so satisfying. There is so much peace and joy when everything has a place, everything is in its place, and it is just so beautifully organized.
Here is my own drawer including all of the items listed in the first day of the challenge. Here’s a secret … I’ve had this knife organizer for 14 years. And the bamboo organizer I purchased secondhand in a set along with my utensil drawer organizer below. I purchased them through Offerup and paid way less than I would if I purchased these new.
But wait! I don’t want you to even think about purchasing organizing products yet. Seriously, wait until the end of this challenge. In my freebie library here, you will find my 7-step guide to organizing any space and you don’t need to buy organizing products until the 6th step of organizing (if you even need to purchase any at all!)
I really want you to understand that organizing does not have to be expensive. It is very likely that you already have organizing products in your home that need to simply be better utilized. OR, your home already has the space you need to store your items and organizing products aren’t even required. The KEY is to declutter/purge first. Throughout these 4 weeks of decluttering, designate a spot where you will collect the organizing products that you find.
As you remove the items from your home that you no longer need, you will gain back all that space you thought you didn’t have. You will find that it is much easier to store your items with all of the excess out of the way. It is only then, that you can decide if you need any products to help make your items easier to access or find. I have a whole playlist of guides to what kind of organizing products you may eventually want to use. You can find that playlist here. All those organizing products you set aside can be put to good use!
